Update 01/14/99
I have selected Microsoft Access as the project data base. Ginny, my wife, has designed a CODE data base consisting of two tables as follows:
Codebooks Table
Book ID (Long integer)
Title (Text - 50 characters)
Edition (Text - 10 characters)
Code Type (Natural or Artificial words)
Numbered (Yes/No)
Notes (Memo)
Codewords Table
Book ID (Long integer)
Code Word (Text - 15 characters)
Completed data entry for:
01/14/99 Western Union Travelers' Cable Code (1650 words).
01/15/99 Western Union Traveler's Souvenir and Cable Code Book
Revised Edition (2440 words).
02/13/99 ABC 4th edition Vocabulary and Addenda (16,175 words).
02/13/99 ABC pre 4th edition (20 words) based on 4th edition corrections.
I have discovered that Access queries are not case dependent and have begun entering the code words in uppercase for ease of reading.
Ginny has prepared a basic query which allows one to specify a code word and obtain a list of all code books containing the word.
